Mikolot: Voices of the Future generously sponsored by Arnold Bloch Leibler and proudly backed by The Moriah Foundation is an international public speaking competition for students in Years 10 – 12 from Jewish schools across Australia and South Africa.
Launched in 2014 together with JDC (The Joint) Australia, the competition aims to bring students from Jewish schools together, cultivating public speaking skills and fostering a more refined expression of Jewish voice in the modern world.
The Grand Final was held at Moriah College on Friday, 4 August 2023, with international and interstate finalists travelling to Sydney to present their address.
This year’s competition included 8 Jewish schools, 60 participants, 35 semi-finalists and 7 grand finalists.

Congratulations to the 2023 Mikolot winners
• First prize – Sarah Uria, Moriah College, NSW – $4,500
• Second prize – Elijah Jones, Moriah College, NSW – $3,240
• Third prize – Meira Eppel, Leibler Yavneh College, Victoria – $1,800
Winners receive prize money towards an approved Israel program to further enhance their leadership skills and consider how they can continue to positively contribute to society and the Jewish world.
